Connect a variety of LoRaWAN devices to Gear Studio Platform with a few clicks!
The Things Stack is an enterprise grade LoRaWAN network server, built on an open source core. Cloud Studio’s platform has integrated to The Things Stack to connect LoRaWAN devices.
The Things Network is a global collaborative Internet of Things ecosystem that creates networks, devices and solutions using LoRaWAN. It offers a set of open tools and a global, open network to build your next IoT application at low cost, featuring maximum security and ready to scale. Offering a robust end-to-end encryption, a secure and collaborative Internet of Things network is built that spans across many countries around the globe. Now operating thousands of gateways providing coverage to millions of people.
The Things Network runs The Things Stack Community Edition, which is a crowdsourced, open and decentralized LoRaWAN network. The network server can be deployed in a number of ways. Customers can choose between the public community network, SaaS, on-premises, private cloud, embedded and offline deployments. From single-tenant to multi-tenant, multi-region, auto-scaling deployments.
Deployment Options
Public Community Network
Use the decentralized and collaborative network, counting thousands of gateways around the world, used by tens of thousands of developers and businesses to build value-driving use cases. Use the gateways that are already installed, or add additional gateways where additional coverage is needed.
Software as a Service
Take control over your LoRaWAN deployment by running a private LoRaWAN network and opt-in for peering with the Public Community Network. SaaS deployments by The Things Industries are offered with a Service Level Agreement and guaranteed uptime.
Private Cloud
Deploy the LoRaWAN Network Server in your own trusted domain to take full control over your deployment, quality of service and the level of security. With this on-premises deployment you can make sure the data never leaves your domain.
On-Site
Build a carrier-grade LoRaWAN Network on-site and make sure your data won’t ever leave the physical site. Build the network offline or install the network server on the gateway itself.
The devices connect wirelessly to the network and are the actual ‘Things’ in the ‘Internet of Things’. Choose from a large variety of certified device suppliers providing connectivity options for various solutions and services.
The integration is designed to easily stream data, manage devices and security while taking advantage of all our existing features.
Making Iot Real, simple and faster!
Follow these 4 easy steps to connect your devices to our Gear Studio Platform:
1. Create an application ( if you don’t have one)
In the event that an application is not previously available in The Things Stack network, it will be necessary to create one
2. Configure the integration by webhooks with the Gear Studio platform.
To enable The Things Stack network to exchange information with the Gear Studio platform, a webhook integration must be created
3. Connect the devices to this application and verify that the information is received correctly
In case you have not done so previously, please also install the devices on The Things Stack network. After the devices are created, verify that The Things Stack network receives the data from the devices correctly.
4. Register the devices in the Gear Studio platform
Finally, for the Gear Studio platform to accept the data registered on the Gear Studio platform, it is necessary to add the devices, following the following steps:
- Enter the device management screen.
- Click on the “Add” button.
- Enter a description for the new device.
- Select the model from the drop-down list.
- Enter the unique identifier of the device (DevEUI)
- Click on “Save.”
At this point, the device will be ready and will start receiving data immediately. You can also review the configuration of each endpoint on the device, if necessary.
